Packed with action, but feels overdrawn and coming across as rote, this latest Bond flick serves up a familiar if disappointing fare.

Mendes focuses on drama, character, and nostalgia in this confidently-mounted Bond film that is also arguably one of the most beautifully shot (by Roger Deakins, no less) in the entire history of the franchise.
